Getting settled in...

I am here! Yes, I know it's taken a while to write this new post, but I have been busy and having lots of fun :) We had quite the adventure getting up here, but it is so wonderful to finally be settled in and I already feel like Issaquah is my new home. (sorry Natomas, you were easy to leave behind... ) To make a long story short, on the way up we realized that the front tire of the moving van was out of alignment and close to either having a blowout or falling off. So we got stuck in Southern Oregon for a night and almost the entire next day... waiting to get it fixed. It was a little hassle, but at least we didn't have a blow out on the road. We still made it here late Saturday night, to Mike's great anticipation. We spent the next few days doing a little unpacking and a lot of sight seeing with my parents. They both loved the area (yeah for it being sunny lately!) Seattle is such a beautiful place in the summer! So many trees, mountains, and lakes make for some beautiful scenery and fresh air, and the weather is gorgeous! 80's! I am still in shock from that alone :)

Here are some pics from The Big Move

All my bags are packed and I am ready to go!

"Leaving for Seattle"

So let's just say the night before a big move, it's hard to get alot of sleep! So in the midst of my sleeplessness, between wandering the house making sure everything was boxed up, I was bored and wrote a little something. Get excited :)

Leaving for Seattle

All my bags are packed and I’m ready to move,
I’m standing here outside my door,
It’s finally time to say my last goodbye
Because noon is breaking,
The car is full,
Dad is waiting
To drive the U-haul
Already I’m excited
To be on my way!

So miss me and email me
Promise that you’ll visit me
Call me so I’ll feel like I’m next door
Cuz I’m leaving for Seattle
Don’t know when I’ll move back again.
Oh yes, it’s time for me to go!

There’s so many times that I freaked out,
And had a little too much doubt,
I’ll tell you now, that they don’t mean a thing!
New places to go, new people to see,
New adventures to have, just Mike and me.
And maybe soon I’ll wear that engagement ring.

So miss me and email me
Promise that you’ll visit me
Call me so I’ll feel like I’m next door
Cuz I’m leaving for Seattle
Don’t know when I’ll move back again.
Oh yes, it’s time for me to go!

Now the time has come to move away,
One more time,
Let me just say
That I hope you
come to Seattle!
Dream about the days to come
When we get to have so much fun,
In a brand new place called Washington.

So miss me and email me
Promise that you’ll visit me
Call me so I’ll feel like I’m next door
Cuz I’m leaving for Seattle
Don’t know when I’ll move back again.
Oh yes, it’s time for me to go!

Cuz I’m leaving for Seattle
Don’t know when I’ll move back again.
Oh yes, it’s time for me to go!

Yes, I was a little bored and sleep deprived, and as my loving boyfriend told me, I better get a job real soon so I have something to do and don't have to resort to writing anymore of those. But, as I said, I am excited to finally be on my way, and I do hope everyone keeps in touch!

My Last Night in Sacramento!

Good-bye Cali...

I wanted to post a few pictures from the going away parties that my sister and mom threw for me before I leave Cali. The first party was at BJ's in Sacramento, where Mike surprised me and flew in for the weekend! Dinner was followed by a night of "Seattle Trivia" at my house where Mike and I won some prizes.... note- the SEATTLE bags in the first blog :). Then last weekend we had a delicious BBQ at my house with lots of family friends... and even more shiska bobs. It was great to see everyone again before I left. Here's some pics from both nights!

Seattle bound!

Welcome to "The Seattle Times" This is my first ever attempt at "bloggging" but I thought it would be a good way to keep in touch with everyone and keep people updated about my new life and adventures in Seattle! Maybe if you all see what a great place it actually is... and see that you won't drown from the rain when coming here, you will be more tempted to come visit! So I am going to try to update this regularly, but we shall see how that goes!!!

So, I am not in Seattle yet, but leaving early Friday morning! I am currently in packing-mode... last week I packed my entire classroom, which was quite the job! But I now have over 50 boxes in my garage waiting to be moved into storage until I get another teaching job. This week I have to finish my house, and then Friday morning we will load it onto the truck and head north! My dad is driving the truck, and my mom and I will lead the way in my car. I am very excited about the move, getting settled in Seattle, and finally beginning this new chapter of life with Mike! Stayed tuned for more updates!
